Tristan Eaton

1978– American Los Angeles, CA

Tristan Eaton (b. 1978) is an American street artist, graphic designer, and illustrator known for his large-scale collage murals, layered portraiture, and pop-iconography mash-ups. Trained at the School of Visual Arts in New York, Eaton came up through toy design — co-founding Thunderdog Studios and designing the Dunny for Kidrobot — before transitioning to fine art and public murals. His instantly recognizable style fuses photorealistic faces with hand-drawn ornament, brand fragments, halftone fields, script typography, and political and cultural references. His murals have appeared in cities around the world, and his work is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Smithsonian. In 2022 he released GEMMA, a 5,000-piece generative collage NFT project paired with a burn-to-print physical edition program.
